From Omaha Beach to Utah Beach: On D-Day, June 6, 1944, at least four detachments of the 165th Signal Photographic Company landed on the coast of Normandy to document the Allied Invasion of Europe. These combat photographers were armed, not with guns, but with cameras. In this mini-documentary we will be following three of the four detachments as we uncover their footage on the locations where they shot it!

I hate to be a spoiler, but now in Ukraine the russian meat waves are routinely having 40-70% casualties day in and day out. Omaha beach was bad. But in the battle for Stalingrad, if one combines the russian and the Nazi casualites of that one battle, they were more than all of the American casualties everywhere in WW2. I believe 9 million Ukrainians died in WW2. Help us to end the war in Ukraine solely due to the brutal russian invasion. I am sorry for WW2, but help us to stop WW3 before American casualties occur on American soil. Ukrainians are dying daily. Do let WW3 grow, let's be proactive and stop the brutal russians before the axis of evil attacks America on American soil. An American in Lviv, Ukraine. Слава Україрі.

FYI. Can you imagine, Mr. Mike Niland (a Spanish American War Veteran who served with Col. T. Roosevelt in Cuba) and Mrs. Augusta Niland, on any given sunny day, receiving correspondence from the U.S. War Department that our boys are MIA´s or worst; KIA´s and their remains are somewhere buried in Europe and all they have in rememberance is a fucking telegram signed by the Chief of Staff of the Army, after these parents spent a lifetime; educating and feeding their young sons to become men in the future. It sucks big time! Where´s our justice and claim? Personally speaking; my grandparents, lost five brothers and two sisters in WWII. Lucky ME as a Grandson, I´m testimony of my Grandpa´s journey since day one in Omaha Beach, as a young man in his 20s, and he survived this masacre. Amen

I had a neighbor whose name I'd never post who was there and all that time he was living right there, as we also obviously did, we never once considered what an awesome source of history was tending to his tomatoes next-door--that's how stupid you are when you're young and don't know shit; one thing I heard, though, was that he lived after a German officer told him to move on a vehicle (holding both Americans and Germans, for some reason). That Kraut took the neighbor's seat on that vehicle, I recall it was the last seat in the back so he would have gotten-out first--then a mortar landed there, killing the officer, so saved the old guy next-door. Who knows if that was true but I heard it was--whether it was or wasn't, he didn't want to talk about the Battle of the Bulge, anyway, and never would because of how bad it was--that proved he was there (I think someone finally got him to talk, putting his experiences in a book somewhere but that was only many years later).

When you realize that Omaha beach, and all the other subsequent beach heads weren’t even reinforced to protect the beaches from assaults as the German high command thought an assault would happen further up north the coast is insane. To know that D-Day would have def killed way more people than it did is surreal and incomprehensible to realize and understand that the beaches were not taken seriously by Germans which in turn made it easier to assault and the Germans still mowed down thousands that to me,,,,,,,,,,,is absolutely insane to place my mind there and think of how much worse it could have been rather than what it was, I believe if Germany prepared for the Omaha assault and all other beaches the allies wouldn’t have made it there’s no way,,,, the allies as it was were having a very difficult time and turning back was spoken of several times during D-Day, the invasion was almost called off!!!!!! That’s crazy to know that, almost called off an assault that wasn’t even prepared for to begin with wow man just wow,,,,,,, we were so close to losing the war and not even realizing it, Germany almost did it,,,,,, Germany had Europe up until they invaded Russia, even though that was the main objective Russia would prove fatal and it most certainly was.
